This 2023 Gold Kangaroo bullion coin is minted with a delightful single year of issue kangaroo design. The 20.60 mm diameter coin is struck from 1/4 Troy oz. The coin features a tribute to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The coin is part of a 150,000 piece limited mintage. A micro-engraved letter is cleverly integrated into the reverse design, serving as a security element which is only visible under magnification.

The portrait is surrounded by the additional inscriptions "ELIZABETH II, " "AUSTRALIA" and 25 DOLLARS. Renowned British sculptor Jody Clark created this final definitive coinage portrait of the late monarch in 2015. Reverse: A single adult kangaroo is portrayed on the reverse, curiously looking over its shoulder. The marsupial stands in the landscape of the Australian Outback, with a pair of grass trees and a eucalyptus tree in the distance.

The series' title "KANGAROO" is inscribed boldly above, with "2023 1/4 OZ 9999 GOLD" and the "P" Mint mark of the Perth Mint in smaller, simpler lettering on the left.
