The Australian Zoo Series Royal Australian Mint has released a bullion series that features various animals. This fourth release features the southern white rhinoceros in both 1 oz Gold and 1 oz Silver coins. The southern white rhinoceros is one of the largest and heaviest land animals in the world. Southern white rhinos are listed as near threatened, with roughly 18,000 animals living in the wild, making protection very critical. The coins in this series feature limited mintages, adding to their collectibility.
