2022 marks the 36th release of the Perth Mint's Gold Kangaroo series, which began as, and evolved from, the Gold Nugget series. Officially re-named the Gold Kangaroo in 1990, the series is characterized by annually changing reverse imagery celebrating the national animal of Australia, the red kangaroo. The Australian native is known for its ability to leap more than eight meters in a single bound, and reach speeds up to 60 kph. This 2022-P Australian Kangaroo bullion coin contains 1 Troy oz.
